Dermal fillers are injectable substances used in medical aesthetics to enhance facial features, restore volume, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They are popular for non-surgical facial rejuvenation and can be used to:

  • Smooth Wrinkles: Fill in lines and creases, particularly around the mouth and eyes.
  • Restore Volume: Add volume to areas that may have lost fullness due to aging, such as the cheeks or lips.
  • Enhance Features: Define and enhance facial contours, like the jawline or nose.
  • Hydrate Skin: Some fillers attract water to the skin, improving hydration and elasticity.

At Glóa we use Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers. These are the most common type of filler and are known for their natural-looking results. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the body and helps retain moisture.

PRP treatments utilize your body’s natural growth factors which help to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the areas they are injected. This procedure is also called the “vampire facials”.

Microneedling with PRP application increases the turnover of skin cells, improving skin tone and texture. It can also reduce fine lines and signs of aging. This treatment can be especially helpful for those who suffered from acne and have visible acne scars or skin damage from prolonged exposure to the sun.

TREATMENT TIME: generally 20-30 mins

How does it work?

To create platelet-rich plasma, a blood sample from the patient and placed into a device called a centrifuge. The centrifuge rapidly spins the sample, separating out the other components of the blood from the platelets and concentrating them within the plasma. This stimulates new collagen production (Type I, II, IV) and also stimulates Elastin, Hyaluronic Acid and Fibronectin production in the dermis.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Facial

How often:

It is recommended to have 3-4 treatments every three to four weeks, then every 6-12 months for maintenance if looking to target acne scars and hyperpigmentation.

PRP injections can be effective in treating androgenetic alopecia, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth.

Blood is collected from patient. After, the blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from red blood cells. The plasma is then injected into the scalp. PRP prolongs the anagen phase (hair growth phase), increases hair follicle size, increases the thickness of epidermis (top layer of skin), and increases the number of follicles of hair in the skin.

Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias or thread veins, are prominent clusters of damaged small blood vessels in the skin. They can appear as red, blue, or purple tortious lines bulging and branching out from a central locus resulting in a spider-like appearance. There are many causes such as crossing your legs, standing for long periods of time, and genetics. These habits that are detrimental to blood circulation can cause vessels to burst and swell.

Sclerotherapy for Spider Veins

How does it work?

Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein, causing it to become irritated and stick together. This, in turn, forces the blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades. Most people report little to no discomfort during their session. The number of veins treated in one session varies and depends on the vein size and location.

Wrinkles/ Fine lines

As we age, our skin loses elasticity, fat and collagen. This contributes to the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Repetitive movements of certain facial muscles also contributes to the development of deeper appearing lines and wrinkes. If you experience fine lines, creases, or wrinkles on your nose, chin, cheeks, or forehead, Glóa Med Aesthetics Skin specializes in neuromodulator treatments. The primary purpose of neuromodulator is to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by limiting the movement of the muscle injected. Common areas for injection in the upper face soften lines in the upper half of the face, particularly forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines. Neurotoxin treatments are injected into the muscles in the affected areas to reduce wrinkles and lines, tighten the skin and bring back your natural youthful glow.
